In the Netherlands, having a health insurance is legally required when you live or work in the Netherlands. The health insurance covers medical expenses.
Charlie works offers the employee who does not permanently live in the Netherlands a collective health insurance via Holland Zorg. The basic (nominal) premium for this in 2024 is €35,58 per week (€154,20 per month). The compulsory deductable is €385.00.
The premium for the basic insurance includes a No Risk policy. The No Risk policy includes:
- Emergency dental assistance;
- Repatriation due to death or medical necessity;
- Continuation of the health insurance for 30 days after termination of employment, if you have not been able to take out health insurance elsewhere.
Holland Zorg app
The Holland Zorg app can be downloaded for submitting healthcare claims. If declarations are submitted via the app, they will be processed by Holland Zorg within 5-10 days.
Declarations can also be submitted at Charlie works. Processing when filing at Charlie works takes longer; about 15 days.
The app can be downloaded via the buttons below or the website of Holland Zorg. This website is also available in English.
When you register for insurance via Charlie works, you receive a policy schedule and healthcare card that the insurer provides.
An E106 form is only provided upon request. This request can be submitted at Charlie supports.
Early termination of the health insurance is only possible when taking unpaid leave for 4 weeks or longer.
